Shailene Woodley a primit premiul pentru cea mai bună actriţă pentru interpretarea sa în „The Fault In Our Stars”, povestea unei adolescente bolnave de cancer la plămâni, care se îndrăgosteşte de un băiat căruia i s-a amputat un picior, rol interpretat de actorul Ansel Elgort.

„Sub aceeași stea” este un film american romantic comedie-dramă în regia lui Josh Boone, bazat pe romanul cu același nume, scris de John Green. Woodley o joacă pe Hazel Grace Lancaster, o pacientă cu cancer în vârstă de șaisprezece ani, care este forțată de părinți de a participa la un grup de sprijin, unde ulterior, îl întâlnește și se îndrăgostește de Augustus Waters, jucat de Elgort, informează Wikipedia.

Bradley Cooper a primit premiul pentru cel mai bun actor în rol principal în filmul „American Sniper’, în regia lui Clint Eastwood, care prezintă viaţa lunetistului american Chris Kyle şi experienţa sa trăită în Irak, potrivit Informația Zilei.

Gala MTV Movie Awards, cunoscută pentru categoriile sale originale, precum cea pentru cel mai bun personaj negativ — „best villain” — a recompensat-o pe Meryl Streep cu premiul „cea mai bună actriţă malefică”, pentru rolul său din filmul „Into The woods”, iar pe Channing Tatum cu premiul cel mai bun actor de comedie pentru filmul „22 Jump Street”.

Will Poutler şi Dylan O’Brien au fost premiaţi la categoria cea mai bună scenă de luptă — „best fight” — în filmul „The Maze Runner”. O’Brien a fost, de asemenea, recompensat pentru cea mai bună formă fizică, în timp ce Zac Efron şi Dave Franco au fost premiaţi ca cel mai bun duet comic — „best on screen duo” — în filmul de comedie „Neighbours”.

Unul din momentele cele mai emoţionante ale serii a fost recompensarea actorului Robert Downey Jr. pentru întreaga sa carieră. Premiul i-a fost înmânat de Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth şi Jeremy Renner, câţiva din colegii săi de platou din filmul „Avengers: Age of Ultron”, care va ieşi curând pe ecrane.
